Basal-myoepithelial cells were identified and annotated by Austin Reed based on canonical marker expression including KRT5, KRT14, TP63, and ACTA2. These cells represent the contractile, TP63+/KRT5+/KRT14+ basal layer that surrounds luminal epithelial cells in breast ducts and lobules.
