PDGFRA and DCN are commonly used markers of adipose-derived stromal/progenitor cells (ASPCs). PDGFRA identifies mesenchymal stromal progenitors within adipose tissue and is enriched in cells with adipogenic potential. DCN (decorin) is an extracellular matrix proteoglycan highly expressed by stromal fibroblast-like cells and reflects the mesenchymal, matrix-producing identity of ASPCs. PDGFRA and DCN distinguish stromal/progenitor populations from mature adipocytes and endothelial or immune cells, supporting their use as markers of ASPCs.
