IGFBP2 (insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2) shows enriched expression in this specific subpopulation and marks a depot-restricted population found exclusively in visceral adipose tissue (AVAT), distinguishing IGFBP2⁺ ASPCs from other ASPC subtypes present across depots. Together these markers identify a visceral-specific ASPC subpopulation within the broader stromal compartment.
