Rationale
- CD3D and CD3E are components of the T cell receptor signaling complex, confirming T cell lineage identity. CD8A confirms a cytotoxic T cell co-receptor expression profile. KLRB1 (CD161) and SLC4A10 are enriched in mucosal-associated invariant T cells (MAITs) specifically, with SLC4A10 being a well-characterized MAIT cell marker involved in bicarbonate transport. Together these markers identify MAIT cells and distinguish them from conventional CD8⁺ and CD4⁺ T cell populations.
