I think there are several things here:
(1) The publication mentions finding distinct bile-duct lipid-associated macrophages (LAMs), which should have been encoded in these annotations.
(2) It's not clear how these relate to Kupffer cells, which are expected to be found here
(3) I agree with other researchers who mention that these could be sub-clustered into distinct subpopulations
I think these cells could be separated into two different subtypes of macrophages. I will have a look if I can find more markers
