Using the Split Screen and Tree View
Using the Split Screen View
The split screen view can be used to view two different resolutions of cell annotations at once, e.g. two labelsets of broad cell annotations vs precise cell annotations, or to compare a set of cell annotations to one of the metadata data fields, such as assay, disease, etc.
- To enter the split screen view click on the More actions icon and select Open in split view.
- The active labelset is highlighted with an orange border and the values will be expanded in the side bar. To switch which embedding is active, click on the embedding.
- To switch labelset displayed, expand the labelset of interest the side bar or click on the labelset at the top of the embedding and select the desired labelset from the drop down menu.
- The camera of each embedding is in-sync, if you move or zoom in on one of the embeddings the same action will be completed on the other embedding.
- To exit the split screen view, click on the X icon in the top right-hand side of the embedding.
Using the Tree View
There are two ways to view labelsets on the embedding page: list view and tree view. The list view is the default view which is available for all datasets, whereas the tree view allows for viewing the cell labelsets in an ordered, hierarchical format. Tree view can be useful for datasets which contain multiple levels of resolution of cell annotations.
In order to utilize the tree view, the order of the labelsets must be set correctly. The top-level labelsets should be higher in the hierarchy order. The labelsets order can be adjusted using the CAP UI by simple drag-and-drop on the Molecular Data page or in the uns section of the AnnData file before upload, please see the hierarchy field in the CAP schema for more detailed information.
- To use the default list view, select the labelset you wish to display on the embedding from the list under List View.
- To use the tree view, click on Tree View and then click the Drop Down button to expand and view the desired labelset in the hierarchy.
- If you need to adjust the order of the labelsets in the tree view, hover to the left of the cell labelset you wish to move and click on the Drag Labelset button to drag and drop the labelset to the correct position.
